The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established company in Canberra with a focus on engineering, steel and metal work. They’ve built their reputation on quality work across both the commercial and residential sectors.

They are looking for a proactive Project Coordinator who will be working alongside the Managing Director and another Project Coordinator in a role that has a strong focus with technical compliance and active site coordination.


Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & WHS

  • Documentation: Utilise existing SWMS to prepare job specific JSAs and risk assessments. Ensure all documentation is transmitted to relevant client personnel.
  • Internal Safety: Monitor internal WHS requirements and take corrective action where required.
  • Site Readiness: Manage project-specific requirements, including coordinating and assisting staff with site inductions and access.

Coordination & Site Operations

  • Site Liaison: Assist with site measurements and monitor progress alongside the management team.
  • Weekly Planning: Participate in weekly project meetings to review current and upcoming status, assigning tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Problem Solving: Identify site-based issues as they arise and implement practical solutions.
  • Technical Input: Provide design and coordination input during project meetings for both active and future builds.
  • Staff Direction: Provide clear direction to workshop and site staff based on project milestones and coordination meeting outcomes.
  • Quality & Programming: Assist with Quality Assurance (QA) and provide input into the monthly internal project programme.
  • Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients, maintaining a high level of project knowledge.


What You’ll Need to Bring

This role is perfect for someone who has a solid footing in Construction or Development. We need someone who understands how a site functions and the flow of a project to completion.

  • Technical Literacy: If things are quiet from a site project perspective, be able to assist in the preparation of drawings and marking up drawings for both the active project and tendering phases of construction.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for dealing with both site teams and professional clients. Having a strong understanding of the projects
  • Organisation: Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Qualifications in Workplace, Health and Safety would be highly regarded.
